We’ve introduced a new payment method — Now you can commission this work for 3 equal payments of $550!

North Carolina residents pay 7% sales tax. We will contact you prior to shipping.

How this works: You are commissioning us to build a Vo-96 Acoustic Synthesizer and install it into a guitar. You must purchase this guitar separately and have it shipped to us. Your card will be charged $550 each month until 3 payments have been collected. During these 3 months, your funds are used to purchase the materials and production time used to construct your Vo-96. When we have received your 3 payments, you will have fully purchased your Vo-96 Acoustic Synthesizer and our installation service. Once your Vo-96 has been constructed and tested it will be installed on the guitar you supplied us and this will be shipped to you, ready to play!

More Details:

We will inspect your guitar. The action will be professionally adjusted for you at the nut and the bridge. (You can tell us how you like your string action, but be aware the Vo-96 needs a bit more buzz clearance because it can drive the strings hard.) We’ll mount the battery pack, the Pro Power Connector on the lower bout next to the strap peg, and of course we’ll position and attach the Vo-96 for optimum performance. We will re-string the instrument with Acoustic Synthesis strings. Then I, (this is Paul Vo writing), will personally spend some time playing your instrument and we will readjust until I’m satisfied it’s right!

There is a huge selection of suitable flat-top steel string acoustic guitars currently being manufactured by all of the well-known guitar makers that will work superbly well with the Vo-96 Acoustic Synthesizer. Most of these instruments have compatible under saddle pickups - that’s why they are called “acoustic electrics”. We recommend such a pickup for live performance amplification of your acoustic. Our #1 recommendation is the L.R. Baggs Active I-Beam system. Note that guitar sound systems that use coils - any kind of coil - as a pickup are NOT compatible with the Vo-96. Unfortunately, the Taylor Expression System falls into this category. However, internal condenser microphones will usually work with the Vo-96.

You MUST make your purchase from a vendor with a “no questions asked” full money back guarantee. This is critical because when we receive the guitar from your vendor, we are going to determine, (a) if that guitar is dimensionally suitable for a Vo-96, (almost all are but we can’t be 100% sure until we see it), and (b) if the guitar has some defect that would be grounds for rejecting it. In either case (a) or (b) we will contact you and you can arrange a return authorization so we can ship the unsuitable instrument back to the retailer. You can then pick a different instrument and repeat the process - hopefully not more than once - until we have a good instrument to work with. (We may have to charge you for this extra shipping.)

Please be aware that the guitar’s warranty is likely to be voided once we have performed the installation. Not necessarily so, some vendors may be reasonable about is as people do add sound-hole pickups and things, but don’t count on it. It’s not the Vo-96 itself that will cause a warranty question, it’s mounting the battery holder and drilling a small hole for the battery jack. That’s why we’ll perform a careful inspection before we do anything!

When we ship the completed instrument on to you, we will be using the same carton or whatever shipping packaging the online vendor used to ship the instrument to us. Whatever that is, it’s what the online vendor has found suitable for shipping instruments all over the country and the world and we will simply reuse it. If the guitar comes to us shipped inside a guitar case, that’s how we’ll ship it on to you.

One more thing to think about: it’s well known that acoustic guitars develop their sound over time and there is a theory out there that frequently playing your guitar, or even subjecting your guitar to musical vibrations while you’re not playing it, can accelerate and enhance this process. I don’t know for a fact this is so - but if it is then the Vo-96 Acoustic Synthesizer is certainly giving your acoustic instrument exactly that right kind of exercise! So who knows - maybe this mid-range instrument is going to slowly turn into something completely amazing in and of itself after years of soaking up the enhance vibrations produced by the Vo-96! We won’t know this until we try! It’s all part of the exploration we are undertaking together as we delve into acoustic synthesis!
