Vo Inventions and The Grey Eagle present An Evening of Musical Invention, with special guest Steve Rothery of Marillion, Billy Cardine of the Billy Sea, and inventor Paul Vo, all supported by Jeff Sipe on percussion and Jake Wolf on bass.

Paul Vo is the inventor of the Vo-96 Acoustic Synthesizer. His technology also powers the Moog Guitar and the Moog Lap Steel. Hear these amazing instruments brought to life in the hands of Steve Rothery and Paul Vo playing the Vo-96 Acoustic Synthesizer and Moog Guitar and Billy Cardine playing the Moog Lap Steel.

Steve Rothery, guitarist and founding member of prog giants Marillion will be flying in from the UK to perform for the first time on his Vo-96 equipped Farida guitar.

“I’ve been looking forward to getting my hands on one of Paul’s Vo-96 incredible acoustic synthesisers since I first saw the clip on his Kickstarter campaign (which I became an early backer of)” said Steve. “I’m going to use the Vo-96 Farida guitar on the title track of my upcoming solo album, “The Ghosts of Pripyat” which I’ve also financed via Kickstarter.”

“I’m really looking forward to playing with Paul, Billy, Jeff and Jake at the Grey Eagle, a venue I’ve heard great reports about and also returning to Asheville, one of my favorite places in the States”.

Billy Cardine is a bluegrass and world music virtuoso who has performed everywhere from Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center to the Ryman Auditorium and Bonnaroo. He pursued musical studies in India and has played at the Bangalore International Music Fest with chitravina master Ravikiran.

Billy was instrumental (pardon the pun) in the development of the Moog Lap Steel and played a prototype at its debut at Moogfest 2010. Combining the unique expressive qualities of the lap steel with the innovative string control abilities of the Moog Guitar resulted in an instrument with incredible expressive potential.
